She walks slowly toward my writing chair, dripping wet. Her puffy hair is so long, weighed down by the water. Wrapped in a red towel, her steps are small.
“Mama, I love you more than the sun.”
“Olive, I love you more than the moon.” I respond.
“I love you more than stars.”
“I love you more than a hundred billion stars.”
“I love you more than a hundred billion of my friends.”
“I love you more than earth.”
“I love you more than oceans.”
“I love you more than cups.”
“I love you more than sky.”
She is almost all the way to me now, and we say together, over and over, “I love you more than sky. I love you more than sky. I love you more than sky.”
Beautiful! I love this so much!
Thank you! It was a special moment I wanted to capture.
i just read another blog post that started with “I like four.” How sweet and exciting.
Oh how precious and sweet these moments are! The bond you and Olive share is so tender and beautiful!!
